Hi,
If I change the preferences for Soldermask oversize (for e.g. outward L terminal), it seems to be rounding up the Y oversize to a single precision. For example, if I specify 0.07mm, The result for a pad that is 0.30 in copper ends up being 0.50 for soldermask and not 0.44. The X dimension works correctly and does not round up. This is with 2018-04 Pre-release. I will appreciate an explanation. Thank you.

Hi Jeff, Here is one FPX file with a part where this happens. After your question, I have found that it does not happen with every part. |

There's a Rule preference option called 'Minimum Gang Solder Mask Web'.
What happens when the spacing between adjacent pad solder masks falls below that value, solder mask automatically expands to reduce the web to zero -'ganging' the masks together. It appears that's happening to your part. Change the rule 0.01, for example, and watch what happens. Jeff |
