It all has to do with Library Expert Pro User Preferences.
The Courtyard has several options in the Pro version. Also, the pad shapes has several options in the Pro version. The Lite version is a direct copy of Pro without global User Preferences, Library Editor and FP Designer. |

Hi Tom,
I thought that Library Expert was following some rules from IPC-7351 and not personal rule set.

The Library Expert Lite and Pro both come with IPC-7351 rules as the default settings.
But the Pro version allows the user to create multiple global preference files that deviate from the default rules. You can also change the rules in Lite, one part at a time after you manually enter all the package dimensions. |

I am aware of these opportunities with a purchased and a free version, but you did not answer my question.

I believe you are referring to the old obsolete LP Wizard Calculator that Mentor Graphics owns. It was created in 2005.
The Library Expert is the new IPC Calculator that produces the correct footprint pattern. It is up to date with 2015 technology. I hope this answers your question. |
