Is it possible to get a CSV export of the column data contained within the FPE.fpx library file?
A CSV (or any delimited text file) makes it easy to use grep to find a specific part using any of the data available. I know that there is a search within FPX, but I do find grep to be faster. Thanks, Billy |

You can open any FPX file in Microsoft Excel and edit the file.
Then select "ALL" and Copy / Paste into Notepad.exe and File > Save As .fpx and open the file in the PCB Footprint Expert. As long as the "Header" and "Column Attribute" names are in the proper place. I create a lot of my FPX file data in Excel because I like the editing features. |

Can you send us CSV samples so we can see the different formats? Maybe we can add a new "Export to CSV File" feature.
Thanks! |

Thanks for the reply.
I should have opened the FPX file with notepad just to explore. Since it is already in a text format, then grep will work very well without exporting from Excel to CSV (comma separated values). It is interesting to note that you use Excel as an editor. I will have to keep that in mind. |
