I had my hour of Q&A with Jeff, and I have watched the User Preferences videos and others. Is my assumption correct that when you click the done button in the user preferences window that is when the preferences are actually saved? Or is it also auto-saved when you switch to a different User Preferences file? So if you want to set up several such files, you need to click done after each to really save it? If so, it would be clearer if the Done button was a "Save and Exit" button, or better yet have both a Save and an Exit button for more flexibility.
Also it would be very helpful for those who do not want their preferences buried down in the Program Files area, if they could just type in the name and path to where they want it or where they want to save it when saving it if that is a separate step. Otherwise, when they click on the "..." browse button, they then have to browse to it manually. It's a creature comfort and more consistent with standard Windows dialogue customs. A shared preferences file could be out on a network shared drive somewhere (or even under SVN control requiring extra handling before saving). Then browsing could be tedious.

We're trying to keep the program light and simple. You only have 2 options, "Cancel" or "Done. Cancel = Do Not Save & Close Done = Save & Close Simple... |
